Cosmos Library News for October 2026

October brings harvest and Halloween. Hopefully you’ll find it a hospitable time to visit the library. The fall programs that began in September continue throughout the month.

Tiny Tykes Storytime continues on Monday mornings at 10:30. It will be held every Monday that the library is open through December 28. No storytime will be held on October 12 when the library is closed for the holiday. This short time of stories, songs, and movement is best for ages 0-5. There’s no need to sign up. An adult or teen caregiver must accompany the children, and the adults are encouraged to participate, as well.

Pokémon Trading Card Game will continue on Thursday afternoons, 4:00-5:30 p.m., through December. Kids ages 7-18 are invited to play Pokémon with the library’s cards or their own. New players are always welcome to come and learn how to play. Children younger than age 8 must be accompanied by an adult or teen caregiver.

Saturday Crafting is the library’s new monthly craft program, held on the 3rd Saturday of each month through December. This free class is held at 10:30 a.m. It is open to nearly all ages, age 8 to adult. Sign-up is required for each session and will open a few weeks ahead of time. Call the library at 320-440-1012 or stop at the front desk to register. The October 17 project will be Halloween scratch art. All supplies are provided.

October’s Take-Home Tuesday craft will be available beginning October 6. Kids can pick up a free Halloween beaded charm bracelet kit. One per child, while supplies last.
