Cosmos Library News for October 2025

October brings pumpkins, crafts, and Halloween to the Cosmos Library.
Take-home Tuesday is planned for October 14. The library will have free craft kits available for kids to decorate a pumpkin with a puppy face. A small pumpkin will be included! The kits are easy for kids to use, and mess-free. One kit per child, while supplies last.
Kristin will teach a fall-themed diamond painting class on Thursday, October 16, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the community room. The library will not be open during this time. This free program is open to adults and teens. Registration is required. Call the library at 320-440-1012 or stop at the front desk to sign up.
The monthly Craft Circle program will be held on the 4th Saturday of the month, October 25. Drop in anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day to work on your own craft project with other crafters. Don’t have a work in progress? The library will have embroidered felt bookmarks ready for you to make, with materials and instruction provided. For adults and teens age 16+. Teens ages 13-15 can attend with an adult. No need to sign up. This program will also be offered on the 4th Saturday of November and December. No messy projects such as paint, please, since the program will be held in the library and we can’t risk staining the carpet.
Pokémon Trading Card Game time continues every Thursday in October from 4:00 to 5:30. This casual program is for kids ages 7 to 18 to play or learn to play Pokémon. The library has cards to play. Players can bring their own cards if they wish. Kids under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult or teen caregiver. Kids can attend every session or just the ones that work for your family’s schedule. No need to sign up. Free to attend.
Will you be trick-or-treating on Halloween? Bring the costumed kids to the Cosmos Library between 2:00 and 5:00 as one of your stops! Candy and non-food treats will be available to choose from.
