Cosmos Library News for November 2024
In November, Cosmos Library is offering a fun craft class for preteens, teens, and adults. Suzanne Fairchild will be teaching a needle felting workshop on Saturday, November 16, at 10:00 a.m. in the community room. This class is free to attend, and all of the supplies are included. Space is limited, so contact the library to register. The minimum age is 10; be advised that sharp needles are used in this crafting technique. This would be a good class for family members to take together. People who have attended Suzanne’s workshop at other Pioneerland libraries have had great things to say about it. She owns Fairchild Farm & Mercantile in western Minnesota.
Pokemon Club continues on Thursdays in November, with the obvious exception of Thanksgiving. This program is held from 4:00-5:30 p.m. for kids ages 7-18. Children younger than age 8 should be accompanied by a teen or adult caregiver. Parents and grandparents are always welcome to stay and even learn the game along with their children. It’s free to attend, and there’s no need to sign up. The library has Pokémon cards to use for the program, so it’s not necessary to bring anything. If kids have their own cards, they are welcome to bring them.
Cosmos Creation Club is the Cosmos Library’s LEGO program for kids ages 5-18, held on the 3rd Monday of the month from 2:00-3:00 p.m. This month it will be on November 18. Children ages 5-7 must be accompanied by a teen or adult caregiver. There’s no need to sign up, and everything is provided.
A take-home craft for kids will be available beginning November 12, while supplies last. This month it’s a Thanksgiving-themed bookmark.
